Terms and Conditions
NOT TO BE USED FOR NAVIGATION - INFORMATION MAY BE INACCURATE
NO GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY OF VALIDITY
The OCC’s Cruising Information Community (the “CIC”, “we”) are a voluntary community of certain members of co-operating yacht clubs working together to develop this common resource of cruising information (the “Information”) for the benefit of participants in the CIC. This site is a Wiki, as in Wikipedia; you should not expect it to be error free. The Information on our site has been contributed by and is intended for use by competent amateur yachtsmen as general guidance solely to supplement research of their cruising plans. In the spirit of further developing the CIC, we hope that you will also improve the Information by contributing relevant information from your cruising experiences.
Your access to and use of the Information and/or submission of information to this site is governed by these Terms and Conditions to which all users of the CIC sites must agree before being given access.
While we administer the Information and may edit individual contributions from time to time the Information has not necessarily been reviewed by people with the expertise required to provide complete, accurate or reliable information. For example, in some destinations the Information may have been contributed based upon the experience of a single visit with no other member of the community having the relevant experience to assess its relevance or accuracy. The Information and views expressed are those of the individual contributors and are not necessarily shared or endorsed by the CIC or its members.
We hope you find the Information valuable, however, the CIC cannot guarantee the validity of the Information and assumes no responsibility for, and does not verify, maintain or keep up to date the Information. Therefore the Information may be inaccurate, incomplete and/or out of date and should not be used for navigation. Any sailing directions and/or navigational guides in the Information were written for yachts of moderate draft. Waypoints, co-ordinates, routes and anchorages may be safe in some conditions of sea and weather but may be dangerous in other conditions. Should you choose to rely on the Information in any way (i) you do so entirely at your own risk and (ii) you should first confirm the Information, particularly but not limited to any waypoints or co-ordinates against current official hydrographic sources.
The provision of the Information does not constitute an agreement or contract between the CIC Parties and you.
